Libre office writer:- LibreOffice is a free and open-source office productivity software suite, a project of The Document Foundation. It was forked in 2010 from OpenOffice.org, an open-sourced version of the earlier StarOffice.
LibreOffice is compatible with a wide range of document formats such as Microsoft® Word (.doc, .docx), Excel (.xls, .xlsx), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) and Publisher. But LibreOffice goes much further with its native support for a modern and open standard, the Open Document Format (ODF).LibreOffice Writer provides a wide range of features and commands that enable you to create an attractive and presentable document with a consistent format. Moreover, such document is easy to read, understand and edit by one and all. Like the entire LibreOffice suite, Writer can be used on a variety of platforms, including Linux, FreeBSD, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
The main menu selections are File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Table, Tools, Window, and Help. When you choose one of the menus, a submenu drops down to show other options. 

New (sub-menu:): Highlighting this item reveals a sub-menu with 11 different types of documents that can be created.

Open: Click this to launch an open dialog where you can search your hard drive and drives to connected to your computer for documents that you want to open. Click here to see an image and further description of opening documents.

Open Remote: This opens a Remote Files dialog that allows you to access documents on a remote server, such as Google Drive and SharePoint. Click here to learn more about Remote Files.

Recent Documents: This is a list of up to 25 most recently opened documents. Click the desired one to open it.

Close: This closes the current document but leaves LibreOffice open. Any other documents will remain open.

Wizards: These launch dialogs that guide you through steps to create a document.

Templates: Templates are documents from which other documents can be created from. Styles and formatting are applied to the new document.

Save: This saves the document. The item is the same in all the applications. There are several options when you save a document for the first time.

Save Remote: This launches a dialog that allows you to choose an online service to save the document.

Save As: This allows you to make a copy of a document. You can give it a new name, different, format, and save it in a new location. After you click the Save button in the dialog, you will be working in the new document.

Save a Copy: This allows you to make a copy of a document. You can give it a new name, different, format, and save it in a new location. After you click the Save button in the dialog, the new document will be saved, but you will be returned to the original document.

Save All: This saves every open LibreOffice document, regardless of whether it is a text, spreadsheet, or other type of document.

Export: This feature is similar to Save As and Save a Copy, except it makes a copy of the document in a standard format that can be opened by a variety of applications, not just LibreOffice or Microsoft Office.
Preview in Web Browser: This launches the default Web browser, displaying the document as an HTML page.

Print Preview: This shows the document how it will look on paper.There are several settings in this view.

Print: This launches a dialog that allows you to control how the document will be output on paper.

Printer Settings: Clicking this launches a dialog with information about printers connected to your computer. Choose the desired printer from the drop-down menu and click the Options button to make changes to that printer’s settings.

Digital Signatures: This launches a Digital Signatures that guides you through the process of signing a document. It also allows you to see a list of signed documents.

Properties: This launches a dialog with seven tabs that have information about the document. Several of them also have fields and checkboxes.

Exit LibreOffice: This closes all documents and stops LibreOffice from running.
