If we need information about any problem, movie rating, price of an item, recipe method, nearby hotel, motel or anything we want, then we type directly on Google and we get all the information. A search engine is a web based tool or software that helps users on the Internet to find any information on the (www) word wide web. Whatever information we want to get in the search engine, about anything, by typing our query in it, we can get different types of information related to it. Today the google search engine is used on a large scale in the world. Search engines can be used on PC, Laptop, Mobile, Tablet and any computing device that supports it. Today we see that mobile and computing devices are used on a large scale and there is a lot of internet usage, so search engines are used to search information on the internet. The search engine is accessed using the browser present in the computing devices. There are many types of search engines and the method of working of each search engine is different. Every search engine has its own secret mathematical formula which is called algorithm. This algorithm decides which website comes first and last on search, which means which website is ranked on the result page. Determined by algorithm. The main job of a search engine is to search for information by visiting different web pages, organize them and rank according to the quality of the content.

1) Google Search Engine:-

The Google search engine was invented by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Google search engine or Google web search is a search engine on the web, owned by Google Inc., which was launched in 1998. It has been created using Python, C, C++ computer language. It is the most used search engine on the web. The full name of Google is Global Organization of Oriented Group Language of Earth. Through its various services, Google receives hundreds of millions of different queries per day. The platform is known for constantly updating its search engine results and features to provide the best experience to the users. Google's market share is about 92%, which is the highest. Google has many such features that make it the best search engine in the market.

2) Microsoft Bing Search Engine:-

Bing is a web search engine, created by Microsoft in 2009 and operated by Microsoft. It is the second largest search engine. Bing is used to search web pages. Through Bing, we can search web pages as well as images, videos, maps, news. Bing was first named Live Search which was later changed to Microsoft Bing or Bing. A search engine named MSN Search was first created by Microsoft in 1998. Microsoft changed its name several times from MSN Search to Bing, along with improvements were made to it. Here MSN stands for Microsoft Network. It was a very basic search engine. In 2006, the name of the MNS search engine was changed to Windows Live Search. Then in 2007, Microsoft rebranded Windows Live Search as Live Search. Meaning the name of the search engine was changed. Live Search was renamed Bing by Microsoft again in 2009 and since then the name Bing is still there. Microsoft Bing is a default search engine on all Windows computers, but despite this it is far behind Google because people like Google more.

Yahoo search engine used to be a very popular search engine earlier but now it has come at number three in the list of search engines. Yahoo is not just a search engine, it is also a web portal where you get features like email services, news, games, horoscope, shopping, which are used by a large number of people. The first yahoo was named Jerry's Guide to the World Wide Web, which was renamed to Yahoo in April 1995. The official name of YAHOO is "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle". Today Yahoo is the most used search engine after Google and Bing.

Baidu search engine was founded by Robin Lee in 2000 and is the most popular Chinese language search engine in China. The meaning of the word Baidu is "countless or infinite". Its market share continues to grow and according to Wikipedia, billions, trillions of searches are being done on Baidu per month. Although Baidu is available for use anywhere in the world, it is only available in Chinese. Baidu Search Engine is one of the largest Internet companies today and currently this search engine provides 57 Internet related services. Surprisingly, not only did Baidu achieve success in such a short time, but its creator Robin Li is one of the richest people in China today. It also has an important place in the Chinese economy. Baidu Company, which employs more than fifty thousand people, was at its peak in 2010 when it accounted for 63 percent of the total economy. Even today, Baidu holds about 56 percent stake. Baidu is used to search information from the web. But like popular search engines like Google, Bing, yahoo, they also provide other services like:- Baidu Maps, Baidu News, Baidu Cloud Storage Services, Baidu MP3 Search, Baidu Anti-Virus, Baidu Patent Search, Baidu Image Search, Baidu Video Search, Baidu Government Directory Search, Baidu Space, Baidu Law Search, Baidu Dictionary etc.

5) Yandex Search Engine:-

Yandex search engine is the most famous search engine in Russia and comes first in the list of major search engines there. It was established almost 25 years back in 1997. Yandex does not think of doing business all over the world like Google, it wants to confine itself to Russia, but the scope of its services is becoming wider than Google. Yandex has decided that it will not compete with Google globally. Instead, the company has focused its full attention on the Russian market. According to Wikipedia, Yondex operates the largest search engine in Russia, which has about 65% market share in that country.

6) Duck Duck Go search engine:-

Another great Search Engine is Duck Duck go. Duck duck go search engine was founded by Gebria Vinburge on 25 September 2008. DuckDuckGo was named after the children's cartoon TV show DuckDuckGoose. Unlike other search engines, DuckDuckGo gives more importance to the privacy of the users and this is the biggest reason people use it. It does not track or store the user's search history. Like Google, it allows you to browse everything from images, maps and videos.

7) AOL Search engine:-

AOL formerly known as American Online. It is a global American Internet services and media company. It was established in 1983 as Quantum Computer Services. From its founding until 2007, the company was based in Northern Virginia. It is currently headquartered in Broadway, New York, USA. It was established in 2009 as AOL search engine. This is an American web portal. It was one of the popular websites on the Internet in the mid-1990s. AOL has its own search engine, AOL search, which was redesigned and launched on 20 January 2005. You can use the AOL search engine to search web, image, multimedia, news and local search results. AOL Search Engine With a market share of just 0.05 percent it is one of the top ten search engines in the world. In 2015, Verizon Entertainment acquired this search engine company, which is still operating as a search engine.

8) Ask search Engine:-

Ask was a search engine founded in 1996 by Garrett Gruener and David Warthen in Berkeley, California, known as Ask Jeeves in the UK. The original search engine software was implemented by Gerry Cheveski of his own design. On July 26, 2010, Ask.com launched a closed-beta quiz service. This service was made public on 29 July 2010. Its headquarter is located in Auckland, California, USA.

9) Ecosia Search Engine:-

Ecosia Search Engine is a search engine based in Berlin, Germany. It was established on 7th December 2009. It is available in 27 languages including English. Its users are more than 1.5 crores. It donates 80% of its profits to non-profit organizations that focus on deforestation. It considers itself a social business. It claims to protect the privacy of its users.

10) Internet Archive Search Engine:-

Internet Archive is a search engine that was established on 12 May 1996. Literally meaning "Internet Archive" is an American digital library whose stated goal is to make all people accessible to complete knowledge. It stores the content in digital form and makes it available free of cost for all people to use. The Internet Archive currently has over 28 million books and texts, 60 million movies and videos, 6 million software programs, 15 million audio files, and 492 billion web pages stored in the Wayback Machine.
